LONG-TERM COMMITMENT
TO MOZAMBIQUE

  • Fostering enduring, sustainable impact.

Our Story

In 2022, the Mozambique LNG consortium launched the Pamoja Tunaweza initiative (“Together We Can” in Kiswahili) to ensure neighboring communities benefited from its presence. This community-driven socio-economic project was developed in partnership with local communities, government authorities, and civil society in Mozambique.

As part of the Mozambique LNG Project, this initiative aimed to foster sustainable development, environmental preservation, and economic diversification in Cabo Delgado. The initiative successfully introduced programs that preserve the environment, generate income, and promote human rights and security in the immediate geographic vicinity of the Project.

Recognizing both its positive impact and its limitations and reaffirming its dedication to sharing prosperity with its host country, the consortium decided to expand its contributions to the long-term development of the entire province of Cabo Delgado, without waiting for the revenues expected during the production phase of the project. In December 2023, the consortium partners set up the Foundation.
