Is an environmental lawyer, land specialist and social activist. Until 2015, she served as the General Director and senior legal advisor of the Mozambican NGO Centro Terra Viva (CTV). She coordinated the Secretariat of the Civil Society Platform for Natural Resources and Extractive Industry, and since then she coordinates legal and technical support to community investments projects in the country.

Enilde Sarmento

Mozambican economist and expert in community development, with over 15 years of experience in public policy, research and monitoring and impact evaluation of community development and poverty. Currently holding the post of director of studies and policy analysis at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Worked as director of the Department of Studies and Planning of the Ministry of Planning and Development; and in various ministries and organizations. Worked especially in social protection, food security, poverty reduction and community participation in the design of social development projects.

Holds a master’s degree in Development Economics and in Development Economics.

Gita Honwana Welch

Has extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in restoring justice systems in post conflict situations, both in her native Mozambique and in East Timor, where she served as minister of justice during UN-led transition (2000-01).

Between 2011 and 2013 she was Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Regional Service Center for West and Central Africa, based in Dakar, Senegal.

With over 20 years’ experience in international development, Gita has worked in more than 40 countries.

Prior to this, she served as UNDP country director in Angola, and as UNDP governance advisor in New York.

Jorge Ferrão

Is a socio-environmental researcher. In 2014, Ferrão was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of BioFund and the Foundation for Community Development (FDC). He was also Dean of Lúrio University, and then Lúrio University and Eduardo Mondlane universities. In 2015, he was appointed to the position of Minister of Education and Human Development. In November 2016, he returned to the academic field as the Rector of Pedagogic University, the largest university in the country and with the biggest presence in all provinces of Mozambique.

Nurmomade Abdulcarimo

Well establishes business man and a leading figure in the private sector of the province of Cabo Delgado. Representing the provincial private sector, he is also highly respected for his social and community engagement. Nurmade is an entrepreneur, senior executive and shareholder of other leading private sector and industry institutions. He is also a member of the CGE-companies whose local engagement has made a significant difference in Cabo Delgado, and is respected from all who know him.

Paulo Gomes

Was the World Bank Regional Director for Africa, Deputy Executive Director and later, Executive Director of the World Bank.

Is a member of the Boards of Directors of African Development Bank, Ecobank, Asky Airlines.

He is also the founder of Constelor Investment Holdings, a climate finance Green Fund and cofounder of the Africa SouthEast Asia Chamber of Commerce, based in Singapore.

Tomaz Vieira Mário

Is a journalist by profession, former the SEKELEKANI Communication Studies and Development Center, and former president of the Higher Council of Media (CSCS). He is also a member of the National Commission for Human Rights (CNDH), a member of the Communications Regulatory Authority Council, and a member of the Consultative Council of the Management Program for Community Land and Natural Resources, promoted by the Ministry of Land, Environment and Rural Development. Tomaz is a recognized expert in Media and Access to Information and was recently appointed to the Higher Council of Social Communication of Mozambique.
