The concessionaires of the Mozambique LNG Project made the following commitment: “Recognizing the once-in-a-generation opportunity  the gas exploration Project represents  to seed economic expansion and contribute to the transformation of quality of life for all Mozambicans, starting in Cabo Delgado, the Joint Venture partners  of Mozambique LNG Project are committed to investing responsibly towards shared prosperity, without waiting for the expected revenue of the production phase.”

In 2022, the Mozambique LNG consortium launched the Pamoja Tunaweza initiative (“Together We Can” in Kiswahili)—a community-driven program designed in collaboration with local communities, government authorities, and civil society to foster socio-economic progress near its industrial operations, mainly in the district of Palma, north of Mozambique, in the Province of Cabo Delgado.

Recognizing the initiative’s positive outcomes, the consortium partners took a decisive step to broaden their impact. They established a dedicated foundation, incorporated under Mozambican law in December 2023, with the mission to support the long-term development priorities of the entire Cabo Delgado province.The Foundation became fully operational in February 2025, with established governance, executive leadership, and the systems needed to design, manage, and scale development programs across Cabo Delgado.
