Recognizing the once-in-a-generation opportunity this project represents to seed economic expansion and contribute to the transformation of quality of life for all Mozambicans, starting in Cabo Delgado, the Joint Venture partners are committed to invest responsibly towards shared prosperity, without waiting for the expected revenue of the production phase.

In 2022, the Mozambique LNG consortium launched the Pamoja Tunaweza initiative (“Together We Can” in Kiswahili)—a community-driven program designed in collaboration with local communities, government authorities, and civil society to foster socio-economic progress near its industrial operations, mainly in the district of Palma.

Recognizing the initiative’s positive outcomes as well as its limitations, the consortium partners took a decisive step to broaden their impact. They established a dedicated foundation, incorporated under Mozambican law in December 2023, with the mission to support the long-term development priorities of the entire Cabo Delgado province.
